Old Fashioned Replica Wheelbarrow Back to Basics This authentic wooden wheelbarrow is built with traditional craftsmanship, from a late 1800's Lancaster County, Pennsylvania pattern. It is fully functional – strong and durable. It also can be used as a decorative accent for your deck, patio, or garden. The barrel is braced with steel for increased strength and durability. The wheels feature steam bent hickory rims, a steel tire, and eight staggered spokes for add strength and balance. Only the finest wood is used in the construction of our wheelbarrows. The main frame is made of ash, which is strong and stiff with very good shock resistance and excellent bending qualities. It is easy to finish and stain. The side boards are made of poplar – a good, strong, hard wood. Poplar is also light, making your wheelbarrow strong, yet easy to manuever. It has a beautiful grain, making it an excellent choice for the wider panels. Poplar trees grow relatively fast, making the wheelbarrow very ecologically friendly. The outside wheel rim is made of hickory, giving it a coarse texture with a straight grain. It bends well with steam, allowing for a maximized trim fit. A galvanized liner is also available as an option, making the wheelbarrow a perfect transportable planter. The wheelbarrow is finished out with decorative safety chains that are made of yellow zinc and have a protective coating, so they won't break or wear. For your convenience, this wheelbarrow comes knocked down in a box to save on shipping costs and storage space. The box is very compact, and the wheelbarrow is wrapped and shrink-wrapped to protect it during the shipping process. It is very easy to assemble, and comes with an instruction sheet.
